Welcome to Chillified Co, a family-owned and operated business founded by Luke and Nicole Landaiche, along with their three vibrant and free-spirited girls, Addison, Elsie, and Selah. We're thrilled to have you join us on our flavorful journey!
The difference is what we offer.
A sweet treat, a local fruit or vegetable, and a taste of home.
Our goal is to collaborate with small businesses so that everyone can enjoy each others hard work and have pride in our products.
We also do not add anything to the items we freeze dry with the exception of seasoning on some of our produce.
That's just what cajuns do and (as a wife) I've learned to pick my battles.
While we love offering candy everyone loves some fresh produce. The garden is planted, the farmers have been contacted, and we are ready to start freeze drying produce mid summer when they're ripe!
Click the eyes to see the produce available!!
We are in the works working with local businesses to sell our produce and candy in THEIR stores so that they are more accessible!
Current produce as of 7/1/23: Bananas, Blueberries, Apples, Strawberries, Cucumbers (Seasoned and unseasoned)
Freeze drying, also known as lyophilization, is a process that involves removing the moisture from a product while preserving its structure, taste, and nutritional content. It is commonly used to extend the shelf life of various foods and other perishable items.
The key advantage of freeze drying lies in its ability to remove moisture without causing significant damage or alteration to the product's properties. Unlike traditional drying methods that use heat, freeze drying minimizes the loss of nutrients, flavors, and textures. The resulting freeze-dried product retains its original shape, size, and taste, while also having an extended shelf life.
Freeze-dried foods have gained popularity for their convenience, lightweight nature, and long-lasting quality. They offer a lightweight and portable alternative to fresh produce, making them suitable for outdoor adventures, emergency food supplies, and space travel. Additionally, freeze-dried foods can be easily rehydrated by adding water, restoring them to their original form and flavor.
